Hedge Removal in Fleet, Hook and all Locations in the Berkshire and Hampshire Areas

Compared to cutting or trimming, both of which are available to our customers in Berkshire and Hampshire, a hedge removal is a process where tree surgeons remove from the ground completely including the roots. We undertake work of this type to clear land if you have an unwanted hedge, creating more space for the customer to use as they wish or, in some cases, to facilitate landscaping and development.

Oakfall Tree Surgery is the name to trust for hedge removal in:

Alton | Basingstoke | Farnham | Fleet | Hartley Wintney | Hook

We also cover all locations in the surrounding areas.

Over a period of years, hedges grow to become unruly and unsightly. This results in encroachment over property boundaries and blocked views of gardens or grounds. In some cases, a hedge might be the victim of disease or a pest infestation. A removal will eliminate the problem and, should you wish to do so, you can either replace the hedge or use cleared space for something altogether different.

You can book in for hedge removals on a standalone basis or, if you prefer, you can rid land of hedges as part of a full site clearance.

The Process

Preparation – The hedge is cut back to a manageable growth and this exposes the roots, which we then excavate at the base.

Root Removal – Next, we use hand tools such as shovels and spaced to sever the roots, or a digger on a larger hedge removal.

Disposal – On uplifting a hedge, we dispose of the waste and, when a hole is left, we then backfill it entirely with a soil.

Prior to a hedge removal, we evaluate the season and conduct visual inspections to ensure no nesting birds are present. Work related to hedges, including cutting and trimming, must fully comply with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, any local regulations that have been put into place, and also with any assigned protection orders.

You can discuss the suitability for a full hedge removal with a tree surgeon at any time, who will advise on the best method to use.

There are approximately 435,000 miles of hedgerow in the UK, enough to reach to the moon and back, but we have lost as much as 50% of our hedges since the end of the Second World War. Surprisingly, more than 60% of the hedges that remain are not kept in a good condition.

Oakfall Tree Surgery is here to address the balance.
